WHERE FLOWERS DREAM
Flowers for me have always been a symbol of optimism and hope, particularly the wild flowers in nature's fields and meadows. Reaching for the light, a transient joy in unexpected places. However dark and tangled our world might be, they emerge in all their beauty to bring a little sunshine to lift the soul. This is the feeling I wanted to capture with this new series, on display at the Wetlands Centre in Barnes, SW14 from 1st August - 30th September 2023
Fragments of the poem, The Song of the Flower, by Khalil Gibran, share the same sentiments.
I am a kind word uttered and repeated
By the voice of Nature
The plains are decorated
With my beautiful colours
I dance to the rhythmic swaying of the grass
I am a part of joy and a part of sorrow
But I look up high to see only the light
And never look down to see my shadow
